Gift-list viewing versus opening a gift's detailed management page

The Manage Gifts list checks the viewing permission, available to Reporting Admin. However, opening an individual gift’s ordinary management page requires modify gifts permission for its project. Do not assume read-only access to that detailed screen merely because someone can view the list or export a report. Matches/challenges have a separate authorization path.

For frontline staff who only need gift information, evaluate scoped reporting access and exports instead of granting modification rights solely to open the detail screen. Confirm scheduling options separately if you need automated report delivery. Verify the desired fields and report scope with support.
