CURRENTLY AVAILABLE IN GC LABS BETA
Advocate Pages gives each advocate on your campaign a personal, shareable fundraising page for their photo, their words, their own donor and dollar totals, and a “Give Now” button that credits every gift back to them. Advocates build and publish their own pages. You keep the design locked to your campaign and can manage any page on the campaign at any time.
How advocate pages get created
You don't create advocate pages one by one. Every advocate on your campaign has a page waiting for them as they create accounts / login:
- When someone becomes an advocate on the campaign via admin or self serve, a draft page is created for them automatically.
- If your campaign already had advocates and already existed ahead of this time, their draft pages are created the first time an admin opens the advocacy table once advocates pages is turned on for that campaign. On large campaigns this runs in the background and can take a few minutes.
Note: A draft page is not public. Nothing is visible to donors until the advocate or an admin publishes it. You can always choose to turn off advocate pages in Advocacy > Settings if desired for you campaign.
What advocates can do
Advocates manage their page from the advocate dashboard on the campaign:
- Log in to GiveCampus from the campaign page and open the campaign's advocate dashboard linked in the advocate section on the page.
- Select Manage your page at the very top.
- Update the text on the page (your name or the about) and replace the image. Edits save automatically as you type.
- Select Publish when the page is ready. The page goes live immediately.
- To take a page down later, select Archive.
Advocates can edit the text and images on their page. The layout, the block order, the fonts, and the colors stay locked to your campaign's design, so every advocate page looks like part of the same campaign.
Note: Advocates need a GiveCampus account and must be logged in to manage their page. An advocate can only ever reach their own page.
What admins can do
Go to Online Giving > Campaign > Advocacy to find your advocacy table. It includes an Advocate Page column if you have enabled this in the Advocacy > Settings page to be an option for your advocates on this specific campaign. showing each advocate's page status — draft, published, or archived — and you can filter the table by status to see who still needs to finish their page.
From the table, admins with the Manage Advocacy permission can:
- Open any advocate's page in the editor and update the text or image.
- Publish an advocate's page on their behalf.
- Archive a page to take it down.
Note: Individual donor names and gift amounts stay in your admin view currently. Public advocate pages show totals only.
What donors see
A published advocate page opens with a full-width hero built from your campaign image, plus:
- The advocate's name and profile photo.
- Two stat cards: Donors and Raised, specific to that advocate.
- A Give Now button for advocate attirbution
- Share buttons for Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and copy link for sharing that advocate’s page.
- A story section below the hero, which starts from your campaign's About content and can be personalized by the advocate.
Give Now sends the donor to your campaign's giving form with the gift credited to that advocate. The share buttons produce a link back to the advocate's page that carries their attribution, so when someone arrives that way and gives, the gift is credited to that advocate too.
Once a page is published, the advocate's name on the campaign page links to it. If a page is a draft or archived, or the advocate is no longer active on the campaign, anyone with the direct link is sent back to the campaign.
Sharing advocate page links in GC Outreach
You can drop an advocate's page link into an email from the Outreach link creator or the campaign email composer, so each advocate gets their own link.
If you email your advocates outside of GC Outreach, exporting your full list of advocates on the advocate page will now include the advocate page links for each advocate.
FAQs
Can advocates change the layout, colors, or fonts on their page?
No. Advocates can edit text and images only. Everything else stays locked to your campaign's design.
Can an advocate edit another advocate's page?
No. Advocates can only reach their own page. Admins with the Manage Advocacy permission can manage every page on the campaign.
Do we have to create a page for each advocate?
No. Draft pages are created automatically for every advocate on the campaign.
What about advocates who don't have a GiveCampus account?
Advocates need an account to have a page in this release. Advocates without accounts keep their existing advocacy links and show up in your advocacy table as they do today.
Do I have to have advocate pages on all my campaigns?
No. This is a setting you can control per campaign within Advocacy > Settings tab to enable / disable this on the advocacy dashboard and the admin pages.
Do community advocates get pages?
Only if they are a specifically named advocate on the campaign — either they signed up or logged in through the campaign, or an admin added them.
What happens when a page is archived?
The direct link routes back to the campaign, and the advocate's name on the campaign returns to its usual behavior. The advocate can publish the page again later.
Can advocates set their own fundraising goal on the page?
Advocate pages display the total donors and funds raised by the advocate rather than a personal fundraising goal.
