Create and manage matches and challenges

Open Online Giving > Campaigns > [campaign] > Motivation & Sharing > Matches & Challenges. The page lists each offer's criteria, directed/designated setup, status, reporting, and edit controls and provides New Offline Match or Challenge when allowed.

A match contributes incrementally in response to qualifying gifts. It can be structured as an amount per donor or an amount per $1 donated, up to the match's total; a per-donor limit can also be configured when offered. A challenge contributes its stated amount when the campaign receives the configured number of additional donors or dollars. A challenge can still be configured to give its full amount if its goal is not completely met.

Configure the donor's information, amount, start/end time, eligibility, and whether the offer follows the qualifying gift's fund or uses one designated fund. Eligibility can include designation, affiliation, email, class year, first-time donor, or recurring-gift criteria when available. These structures allow one match to respond to a collection of qualifying gifts; it does not need to correspond to one gift of the same amount. Avoid overlapping criteria that make donor-facing progress hard to interpret.

Use the match/challenge report from this page to review qualifying activity. A public progress display is not a substitute for the report. The number of featured offers is limited by the campaign configuration, even if more offers exist.
