First manage the institution's designation library at Online Giving > School-Level Settings > Designations. A designation must be active and not hidden to be available for normal selection. Keep the reporting/backend identifier stable unless the institution has a coordinated data-change plan.
Then open Online Giving > Campaigns > [campaign] > Giving Experience > Form Settings & Display or the corresponding standalone Giving Form and configure which designations appear, their order, descriptions, and whether selection is required. A form can allow more than one designation and, when configured, separate amounts. The interface warns that removing designations from a form is irreversible and that required-designation changes can affect fields and validation, so preview before saving.
Pinned designations are fixed at the top of the designation dropdown and are not changed by bulk sort-order or visibility actions; up to 25 can be pinned at one form level. Use the Form Order controls in the pinned-designations table to order the pinned choices. Feature Above Dropdown is a different control: it lifts a designation out of the dropdown into a more prominent donor-facing choice. Review both settings when a designation appears ahead of the expected alphabetical or form order.
Large designation lists may need a designation-row custom report, which places each split designation and amount on its own row. Go to Online Giving > Reporting > Custom Reports to create that layout.
