Before comparing reports, identify the time zone, date basis, and row grain. GiveCampus can expose different timestamps for pledge/creation, payment capture, deposit, refund, event registration, and export. A transaction near midnight or a daylight-saving transition may fall on a different calendar date when converted.
The standard Online Giving timestamp columns map to distinct saved events: datetime_of_pledge is the gift's confirmation time, datetime_of_checkout is its checkout time, datetime_of_capture is the payment-capture time, and datetime_of_deposit is the bank-deposit time. A record can legitimately have different values—or no value yet—for these columns. Choose the column that matches the business question instead of treating them as interchangeable gift dates.
In Online Giving > Reporting > Donations, choose the requested date range and whether the report uses pledge time or capture time. Use Online Giving > Reporting > Deposit-Based Reports for bank reconciliation. For Events, choose a registration-, guest-, item-, gift-, or attendance-level report rather than comparing row counts across grains.
Include stable GiveCampus IDs, external identifiers, amount components, currency, state, and the relevant timestamps in a reconciliation export. Payer name, donor name, and public-recognition name can differ and should not be used interchangeably.
