Create and govern school-level custom fields

Go to School Dashboard > Settings > Custom Fields to review institution data definitions available to the account. Product-specific reusable fields are managed in their product settings, such as Online Giving > School-Level Settings > Reusable Form Fields and Events > Settings > Reusable Fields.

Before creating a field, define its owner, purpose, type, allowed values, required/optional behavior, external-system mapping, and reporting label. Reuse an existing field when it means the same thing. Do not change a field's meaning while keeping the same name or identifier; create a new version and migrate deliberately.

Adding a reusable field to the library does not automatically put it on every Giving Form or event. Add it to each eligible form and preview the collection flow. Removing a reusable Event field does not remove it from events already using it.
