Understand VMS dashboards, donor tiles, reporting, and exports

Go to Volunteer Management > Dashboard for aggregate metrics. Accounts on the earlier navigation use Volunteer Management > Home > Overview. Depending on system/unit and settings, these include total volunteers, assignments, constituents, assigned donors, total donors, unassigned constituents, and assigned/total dollars. Dollar tiles appear only when the institution is configured to show gift amounts.

Use Export & Reports in the current administrator navigation for available exports. Earlier navigation provides Active Volunteers, Inactive Volunteers, Registered Volunteers, Unregistered Volunteers, and Email Deliverability under Home or Reporting. Volunteer-action reports offer filters and Export as CSV. System administrators can compare unit-level statistics; volunteers see only reporting permitted by their role.

Counts are not interchangeable: one volunteer can have multiple assignments, a constituent can be unassigned, and donor counts or dollars follow the configured data and reporting logic. A dashboard is an aggregate view, not proof about a particular constituent or gift. Check the report definition and date/filter before comparing it with a CRM export.
