Navigate to User Settings:
- Go to the “Settings” page on the left-side navigation panel within GC GO
- Then select “My Settings”
Locate Email Sync and Start Authentication:
- Find the section labeled “Email Sync.” You’ll see a description and a “Connect Email Account” button to start
- Click the “Connect Email Account” button. You’ll be redirected to Nylas, a secure email authentication platform GC GO uses
- Gmail users: click "Continue with Google"
- Outlook users: click "Continue with Microsoft"
Follow the Nylas Workflow:
- Complete the authentication process in the pop-up
- Grant the necessary permissions (read/write access) when prompted
- Use your institutional email credentials as required
Automatic Status Update:
- After finishing, you’ll be sent back to your GC GO settings. Your status will update from “pending” to “approved” once the connection is confirmed
- If you reach this step and still see the status as “pending” try refreshing the page
If Your Domain Isn’t Approved:
- If you try to authenticate with an email domain not allowed by your school, you’ll get an error and will need to retry (contact your admin to get your domain approved, if needed)
Confirmation:
- Once connected, your authenticated email address will display as active in your settings. Emails you send from GC GO will appear in your email Sent folder
Your status will update to active once the connection is confirmed.
Before you start — domain approval required:
- The Connect Email Account button will be disabled if your school's admin hasn’t specified which email domains are allowed for authentication. If the button appears grayed out, ask your admin to have your domain approved before proceeding.
- If the email address you’re authenticating is already connected to another gift officer account at your school or is in use by a different school in GiveCampus, you’ll see an error. In this case, ask your admin to resolve the conflict.
