Navigate to User Settings:
- Go to the “Settings” page on the left-side navigation panel within GC GO
- Then select “My Settings”
Locate Email Sync and Start Authentication:
- Find the section labeled “Email Sync.” You’ll see a description and a “Connect Email Account” button to start
- Click the “Connect Email Account” button. You’ll be redirected to Nylas, a secure email authentication platform GC GO uses
- Gmail users: click "Continue with Google"
- Outlook users: click "Continue with Microsoft"
Follow the Nylas Workflow:
- Complete the authentication process in the pop-up
- Grant the necessary permissions (read/write access) when prompted
- Use your institutional email credentials as required
Automatic Status Update:
- After authentication, you return to GC Gift Officer settings. Your email connection changes from Pending to Active. If it still shows Pending, refresh the page.
If Your Domain Isn’t Approved:
- If you try to authenticate with an email domain not allowed by your school, you’ll get an error and will need to retry (contact your admin to get your domain approved, if needed)
Confirmation:
- Once connected, your authenticated email address will display as active in your settings. Emails you send from GC GO will appear in your email Sent folder
Managing email aliases
- Once your email account is connected and active, the Email Aliases section will appear on the same page. Use this section to choose which email address you send from when composing an email in GC Gift Officer, which is helpful if you have multiple addresses under one login.
- Click Add Email Alias to add an alias. Only addresses matching your school's approved email domains can be added.
- Click Set as Default next to an alias to make it your default send-from address.
- Note: You cannot delete an alias if it is the only one on your account or if it matches your primary connected email address. In these cases, the delete option is disabled.
