Cadences: A series of templated steps typically used for two purposes. The first is to drive an outcome, such as introducing yourself to a constituent, qualifying a constituent, or asking for a meeting. The second is for stewardship purposes, such as a reminder to provide an update on the soccer team to a group of 30 constituents during the fall.
Cadence Setup/Management
Navigate to the cadence management page by clicking “Cadences” in the left hand side menu.
To create a new cadence, click the new cadence button.
You can then select a template to use as a starting point.
On this page, you will see the cadence steps. Click on the pencil icon to edit the steps, or click the Add Step button to add additional steps. If your institution requires you to link cadences to plans, please select the “link to plan” option available in your GC GO instance.
You can then enter the step information, such as the Step Title, the Due Date, the Step number, and you can link the step to a template. NOTE: if you don’t have a template ready, click “Create New Template” in this dropdown and it will bring you to a page to create a template for this step.
Adding Constituents to a Cadence
Constituents can be added to either the Upcoming tab or the Active tab in the cadence management view. The upcoming tab is a holding pool, here you can add the constituents who you want to have in a cadence, but you’re not ready to start the cadence steps yet. In the Active tab, the constituents are actively moving through the cadence (AKA steps are due and the timer is running).
You can add constituents one by one on either the Upcoming to Active tab by clicking the Assign Constituents button and selecting the constituents name.
To assign multiple constituents to a cadence at once, navigate to your prospects or constituents tab, select the constituents you would like to add and then click Add Selected to Cadence
You can then select the cadence you want to add them to and either add to Upcoming or add to Active.
If added to upcoming, you can either manually move constituents from upcoming to active by clicking the play button next to their name. Or, you can have the platform automatically move folks into the active cadence based on the settings you provide (ex. Move 2 constituents into the active cadence every 1 day).
On the active tab, you’ll see a list of names of the constituents actively in the cadence. As well as additional information such as when the cadence was started, what step of the cadence the constituent is one, and if there are any past due steps.
Completing Cadence Steps
Cadence steps will appear on the Tasks page. You can click into the cadence title to click into the cadence step.
From there, you’ll be brought to the task page which will have the template associated with that step populated for you. You can then make any updates need to the template and complete the step.
