Troubleshooting update creation
If you don't see update options:
Confirm you're logged in with the proper permissions.
Ensure you have the "Post Campaign Updates" permission for that campaign.
Refresh your browser.
If the issue persists, your account may lack the necessary permissions for this campaign.
Branded campaign page sign‑in required
If you're signed in to GiveCampus but still don't see the update options, you might not be signed into the campaign's branded URL. Look for a "sign-in" button in the top right of the campaign page—if it's there, complete the sign‐in process on that page and then refresh.
How to fix it
- Open the campaign landing page in your browser.
- Check the top right for a "sign-in" button.
- If the button is visible, click it and sign in on that page.
- Refresh the page. If your account has the "Post Campaign Updates" permission, the update controls should appear.
- If you see your avatar or name instead of the sign‑in button, verify you have the correct permission and refresh your browser.
Additional tips
- Signing in on the main GiveCampus site or in another tab does not sign you into every branded campaign page.
- If you use multiple GiveCampus accounts, be sure to sign in with the account that has the required permission for that campaign.
- If the update options still do not appear after a refresh, try signing out and back in on the same campaign URL or use a private/incognito window for a fresh session.
Best practices for impactful updates
Keep it clear and concise: Lead with the headline or key milestone.
Celebrate progress: Recognize donors, challenges, and goals met.
Invite action: Include a call to action, encouraging supporters to share or donate.
Time your posts: Share updates during key moments like the launch, mid‑campaign peaks, or final hours.
