Customizing Email Footer Address in GC Outreach
GC Outreach emails include a footer displaying your institution’s physical mailing address and an unsubscribe link. The footer is automatically generated from your school-level mailing address settings. This guide explains how the address is sourced, how to update it, and what can or cannot be customized.
where the footer address comes from
The footer address is pulled from your school-level mailing address settings.
It displays values from the Physical Mailing Address section: street address, city, state, zipcode, and country.
The footer cannot be customized on a per-email basis—it reflects your school-wide settings.
Unsubscribe links are automatically included and cannot be removed.
how to update the address in Outreach email footers
Navigate to Online Giving > School-Level Settings > Other.
Locate the Physical Mailing Address section.
-
Update all required fields:
Street Address
City
State/Province
Zipcode/Postal Code
Country
Save your changes.
New GC Outreach emails will display the updated address in the footer.
what you can and can't customize
Per-email changes are not supported; the footer address uses your school-wide settings.
The unsubscribe text is always included and cannot be removed.
To add details like a mail code or department information (e.g., "Donor Relations"), include this information in the Street Address field or within your email content above the footer.
footer spacing: fixed gap details
- The gap between your email content and the automatically generated footer is built into the email template and cannot be changed with HTML or email editor settings.
- Adjusting padding (for components or sections) does not affect this gap.
troubleshooting and best practices
- Remove trailing blank lines or empty blocks at the bottom of your email; extra paragraphs placed just before the footer can widen the gap.
- Avoid using large images or wide logos at the bottom of your message. Instead, move them to the header or reduce their height to prevent pushing content downward.
- For department details, mail codes, or similar information that must appear immediately above the footer, add the text to the Street Address field (Online Giving > School-Level Settings > Other > Physical Mailing Address) or include it as the final line of your email content.
- Test in common email clients (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail) as small variations in vertical spacing are normal.
Note: You can control the content above the footer, but the fixed vertical gap remains unchanged.
