Text Sharing Feature

The "Text" button on your pre-launch page opens your device's default messaging app with a pre-filled message containing your campaign link.

This feature uses your device’s native SMS functionality.

The sharing text you set here is used for both text message sharing and social media sharing (Facebook, Twitter/X, and LinkedIn).

Character limits: Sharing Text is limited to 100 characters. Sharing Hashtag is limited to 50 characters and can only include letters and numbers—no spaces or special characters. The # symbol is added automatically when you save.

Important: This feature is not connected to GC Outreach Texting. It uses your device's built-in messaging app and works regardless of whether your school has GC Outreach Texting enabled.

How Text Sharing Works

When someone clicks "Text" on your pre-launch page:

1. Their device's messaging app opens
2. A pre-filled message appears with your campaign link and sharing text
3. They can add a recipient and send the message

Customizing Your Sharing Text

To customize the message that appears when people share your campaign:

1. Navigate to Campaign Settings > Basics
2. Scroll to the "Sharing Text" field
3. Enter your custom message (this text will appear in all sharing methods)
4. Add a "Sharing Hashtag" if desired
5. Save your changes

Troubleshooting

Text button doesn't work:

• Ensure you're using a mobile device with messaging capabilities
• Check that your device has a default messaging app set

Wrong message appears:

• Update your sharing text in Campaign Settings > Basics
• Clear your browser cache and test again

Want to test the feature:

1. Visit your pre-launch page on a mobile device
2. Tap the "Text" button
3. Send a test message to yourself
4. Verify the message contains your campaign link and sharing text
