Why can't I edit the Joint Gift field for some donations?

Overview

The Joint Gift field only appears as editable in the admin donation edit interface when it's enabled in your donation form where that gift was made. If you can't see or edit the Joint Gift field for a particular donation, it either means the field wasn't available on the form, or a setting is preventing it from appearing:

If the field was enabled on the form but you do not see the option to edit it:

1. Go to Online Giving → School-Level Settings → Donation Form

2. Under the form fields section, enable Joint Gift

3. Save your changes

What This Means for Gift Administration

When the Joint Gift field is properly enabled:

• Donors can enter joint gift information during the donation process

• Admins can edit both the Joint Gift checkbox and Joint Year field when reviewing donations

• Joint gifts will count as two donors toward campaign totals and participate in email notifications, matches, and challenges
