How do I update an Advocate's name?

To update an advocate's name you can upload your CSV again with the corrected name! As long as the email address matches what you already uploaded the name will update.

Important: When creating a new advocate via CSV, ensure the first name field is not blank; rows missing a first name will be skipped. For existing advocates, a blank first name in the CSV will leave their stored first name unchanged.

The required CSV format depends on how you're uploading advocates:

• Standard advocate upload: Include the header constituent_id,first_name,last_name,email. The constituent_id column is optional, and the email column matches existing advocates to update names.
• Segment upload: Include the columns external_id, first_name, last_name, and email_address. The email_address column is used to match and update existing records.
