Tiered Advocacy Link Builder

The Tiered Advocacy Link Builder is enabled for all campaigns; no activation request or feature-setting check is needed. To open it, append /advocacy-link-builder to the givecampus.com version of the main campaign URL, not a branded URL. For example: https://www.givecampus.com/schools/YourSchool/your-campaign/advocacy-link-builder.

Overview

The Tiered Advocacy Link Builder helps schools and advocates quickly generate advocacy tracking links for tiered landing pages. It replaces the manual workaround of maintaining spreadsheets that map tiered page URLs to advocacy IDs.

With this feature, schools can share a single page where advocates can:

• Generate a unique tracking link for that specific tier.

Before you start

To use the Tiered Advocacy Link Builder, you must:

• Load advocates into the campaign first. (This is required for link generation.)

  Quick testing checklist:

  1. Use the campaign’s givecampus.com URL and append /advocacy-link-builder exactly (for example: https://www.givecampus.com/schools/your-school/your-campaign/advocacy-link-builder).
  2. Verify that the campaign’s tiered landing pages are published and that advocates are loaded into the campaign.

How advocates generate their tracking link

1. Start with the givecampus.com version of your main campaign URL, not a branded URL.
2. Add /advocacy-link-builder to the end of the campaign link.

Example:

https://www.givecampus.com/schools/GiveCampusUniversity/givingchooseday/advocacy-link-builder

1. The advocate selects the project or initiative they want to promote from the dropdown. (If the desired option isn’t visible, confirm it is published.)
2. The advocate enters their email address.
3. The advocate clicks Get My Link to generate a unique tracking link for the selected project or initiative.

What happens if an advocate is not yet loaded?

If an advocate’s email is not already loaded into the campaign, they will be prompted to create an account or log in. Once they do, GiveCampus will add them as an advocate for the campaign and redirect them back to the Link Builder so they can finish generating their link.

FAQs and Limitations

Can one advocate create multiple links (for multiple tiered pages)?

Yes. An advocate can create multiple advocacy links for different tiered landing pages, and the links will work accurately.

Does this support “auto-fill designation + advocacy tracking” (non-tiered designation links)?

Not at this time. Today, this feature is for tiered landing page + advocacy-specific tracking, not for building links that auto-select a designation on a standard giving form.

Does this work with Branded URLs?

No. Open the builder by adding /advocacy-link-builder to the givecampus.com campaign URL. Do not add it to your branded-domain URL.

Recommended rollout approach

• Load your potential advocates into the campaign.
• Share the /advocacy-link-builder URL with advocates.

If the email is not loaded, follow the sign-up or login prompt. Completing that campaign sign-up/login flow adds the advocate to the campaign and returns them to the builder. If the email still is not recognized, verify the email used and ask an administrator to check campaign advocate membership.
