Cash App on membership purchase forms
If your school has Cash App Pay enabled, donors will see a green Cash App button on membership purchase forms. The button appears in the Express checkout area just above the Continue button, alongside options like Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal.
How it works on the membership form
- Donors must complete the contact information fields (name, email, and any other required fields) before selecting the Cash App button. Unlike Apple Pay and Google Pay, Cash App does not provide the donor's name or email, so these details must be entered first. The button only bypasses the separate payment page.
- The Cash App button is hidden if the donor opts for a recurring (multi-year annual) membership. It remains available for single-year annual and lifetime memberships.
- After completing a Cash App payment, donors are taken directly to the membership confirmation page.
Reporting and availability
- Cash App membership purchases are marked as "CashApp" in the card_type column of your reports, consistent with Cash App gifts from other forms.
- The Cash App button appears only for schools with Cash App Pay enabled.
- Cash App can only be used for one-time purchases and is not available for recurring subscriptions.
