Measure the impact of your marketing efforts with Unique Tracking Links to analyze the clicks, registrations, ticket sales, donors, and dollars generated by each link within GC Events.
How it works:
GC Events administrators can now generate Unique Tracking Links for each event that will direct constituents to the event landing page, event registration form, or the donation form associated with the event. Unique Tracking Links will be assigned a title and optional description that can display in event reporting to easily identify which registrations and donations were generated from each source.

Keep in mind:
- We recommend creating a Unique Tracking Link for every marketing channel used to promote your event.
- Be sure to use a standard naming convention for your Unique Tracking Link title and description to easily identify where and when each link was shared to facilitate your ROI analysis after the fact.
How to generate Unique Tracking Links in GC Events:
- From the GC Events dashboard, select an event and click Unique Tracking Links in the left-hand navigation menu.
- Click the New Unique Tracking Link button and define each field:
- Title (required): This value will only appear to administrators in reporting and will not be shown to constituents.
- Description: This value will only appear to administrators in reporting and will not be shown to constituents.
- Destination (required):
- Event Landing Page: This option will direct constituents to your event landing page.
- Registration Form: This option will direct constituents to the first step of the event registration form, bypassing the event landing page.
- Donation Form: This option will direct constituents to the donation form (either a giving form or social fundraising campaign form) associated with the event in the Gifts section. If gift solicitation has not been enabled for this event, the Donation Form destination will not be shown. Learn more about soliciting gifts in GC Events.
- Tag: This value will only appear to administrators in the Unique Tracking Links dashboard and will not be shown to constituents.
- Once created, each Unique Tracking Link URL will appear in a separate row of the table on the Unique Tracking Links dashboard.
- Use the icons in the right-most column to edit the Unique Tracking Link, archive the Unique Tracking Link, or generate the Unique Tracking Link as a QR code.
Reporting on Unique Tracking Links in GC Events:
Aggregate Statistics for Unique Tracking Links:
- The Unique Tracking Link dashboard within each event will dynamically update as clicks, registrations, ticket sales, donors, and donations are generated for each link.
- Use the Export button to download these aggregate statistics for all Unique Tracking Links created for a single event.
- Note: The statistics displayed for donors and dollars reflect the donors and dollars generated for the campaign or giving form currently associated with the event. If an administrator changes the giving form or campaign associated with the event, these statistics will only reflect gifts to the current campaign or giving form. Changing the campaign or giving form associated with an event will not impact unique tracking link data for gifts made to a previously associated campaign or giving form.
Custom Reporting with Unique Tracking Link Data:
- Navigate to GC Events > Custom Reporting.
- Create a new custom report or modify an existing custom report.
- After defining the report basics and filters, add the columns desired and select the following available columns for Unique Tracking Link data:
- Unique Tracking Link Description (unique_tracking_link_description)
- Unique Tracking Link ID (unique_tracking_link_id)
- Unique Tracking Link Title (unique_tracking_link_title)
- Unique Tracking Link URL (unique_tracking_link_url)
- Learn more about Custom Reporting in GC Events.
Donation Reporting with Unique Tracking Link Data:
- If a unique tracking link is created in GC Events and a constituent makes a gift either integrated in the registration flow or via the event landing or registration overview page, the “advocate_user” column will populate with the unique tracking link ID in donation reports but the link title, description, and URL will only be available via custom reporting in GC Events.
