GiveCampus now offers pre-built custom report templates to quickly get started with building an online giving report.
A template is a pre-defined set of columns and settings that provide our recommendation for the best fields to include in a report.
You can use these templates as-is without any modification, or you can customize them to your own organization's needs.
How to use a custom report template
The templates available to your organization can be found in Online Giving > Reporting > Custom Reports > GC-Created Templates
Note: The GC-Created Templates tab is available only to schools with this feature enabled. If the tab is missing, check with your GiveCampus representative.
Note: The templates available to you may vary from what is shown above as GiveCampus creates and publishes new templates.
Viewing what fields are included in a template
To understand what fields are included in a template, click the eye 👁️ icon to open a view-only version of the report configuration.
- Template Basics: indicates if this is a Gift Row or a Designation Row report. Learn more about how each of these options handles split-gifts.
- Columns: a list of fields that will be included in the report
- Aliases: a set of alternate column header names that will be used in the output file - useful if this template will be loaded into your CRM system. If no aliases are shown, your school's custom report aliases will be used, if set.
Using the report template
To run a report using one of the template, you first need to make a copy of the template for your own use. Click the copy 📄 icon and then confirm by clicking "Yes". You will now see a new row in your Custom Reports tab with a "[GC TEMPLATE]" prefix.
You can rename the report and change the columns by clicking the pencil ✏️ icon to the right.
Your custom report now appears in the drop-down menus on the Donation Reports and Deposit-Based Reports pages.
