Find out how to customize gift notifications on a role by role level!
There are two primary ways to customize the experience of how a volunteer receives notifications about assignments who have made a gift within GiveCampus Volunteer Management:
- Gift Configurations
- Role Settings
With gift configurations, you can narrow down what criteria must be met in order for a volunteer to receive an email or website notification. Is it only Annual Fund gifts? Is it any gift below your major gift threshold?
This is set up via the Settings > Gift Configuration > Automated Gift Notifications > Automated Gift Notifications (Volunteers) section. Here you can choose what source we should utilize to trigger these notifications (detailed gifts, gift summary file, etc.), choose if you want just email, just website notifications, or both, and the criteria needed to trigger a notification like this.
This information is set on the GC VM-wide level (unit wide, for schools utilizing different GC VM units), so would cover all volunteers in the system.
But we know not all roles need details on those in their assignment group that have made a gift. Maybe they are assigned to everyone in their class to do class notes work -- that would be a lot of gift notifications! So on those specific roles, you can override those gift notifications and opt a role out of gift notifications.
To do this, go into the role settings and scroll down to the “What notifications this role receives” section and opt out of the “Send Gift Notifications” option, which overrides the settings set via Gift Configurations for this role.
For our partners also utilizing a fundraising product through GiveCampus, this is where you choose if this role should receive pending gift notifications or not, also! For more details on pending gift notifications, click here.
