Custom Texting Segments allow you to target custom and specific groups of constituents in a texting campaign.
About Custom Text Segments:
Custom segments allow you to create targeted texting campaigns with pre-determined constituent lists. School admins can save these lists as CSV files, upload them with a unique name, and use them in future campaigns. To begin, head to your admin dashboard > Texting > Custom Segments.
Getting Started:
1. Create a New Segment
- Go to your admin dashboard > Texting > Custom Segments.
- Click the blue '+ New Segment' button on the top right.
- Assign a unique name to your segment.
2. Prepare and Upload CSV
- Prepare a CSV file with one column header: 'constituent_id'.
- Upload this CSV file to select a specific subset of constituents (already uploaded via the school-level data importer or VMS constituent upload) for your campaign.
Review:
After uploading the CSV, you’ll be redirected to a review page where you can:
- Review the uploaded constituents.
- Download the list in CSV format.
Managing Text Segments:
You can manage your segments with the following actions:
- Archive: Hides the segment from the texting campaign creation process but can be restored later.
- Restore: Brings an archived segment back for use.
- Delete: Permanently removes a segment, making it unrecoverable.
Admins can view and manage existing segments by clicking on each segment's name to see the relevant constituents.
