A simple and secure payment option that is proven to reduce friction and increase conversion.

Partners leveraging GiveCampus’s integration with Stripe for payment processing are able to accept gifts via Apple Pay--at no added cost, and with no technical development or set-up required. Additionally, GiveCampus and Apple have partnered to automatically approve members of the GiveCampus community for use of Apple Pay. Apple normally requires that non-profits go through a multi-step review process prior to being approved for Apple Pay, but this process occurs "behind the scenes" for GiveCampus partners. In short, GiveCampus has made Apple Pay as easy for you as it is for your donors!
What is Apple Pay?
Apple Pay is a "digital wallet" that allows people to pay without taking out their credit or debit card. Instead, they authenticate with their fingerprint ("Touch ID") or by glancing at their device ("Face ID"). Like WebPay, Google Pay, the "Bank Transfer" giving option and "1-click giving" for donors who store payment information on their GiveCampus account, Apple Pay dramatically reduces friction for donors--and meaningfully increases conversion for you. Businesses offering Apple Pay have seen checkout conversion rates increase by as much as 2.5x!
Who uses Apple Pay?
With an estimated 40 million U.S. users as of mid-2018, Apple Pay is quickly becoming one of the most popular payment methods. Many Apple Pay users (including the CEO of GiveCampus) use it every chance they get, and adoption of Apple Pay has significantly accelerated since the release of Apple Pay Cash in December 2017. (Apple Pay Cash allows people to send and receive money via text messages, making peer-to-peer money transfers easier than Venmo.)
How do you use Apple Pay?
Apple Pay can be used by donors using the Safari web browser on Apple devices including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac. For step-by-step instructions on how to set up Apple Pay, read this article on Apple's website. (Note: Donors who have not set up Apple Pay or who are not using Safari on an Apple device will not see the option to use Apple Pay.)
Will Apple Pay impact payment processing or reporting?
Apple Pay transactions are processed just like credit card transactions. The only difference is that these transactions will appear in your reporting with the cc_type field set to "ApplePay” or “apple pay". (For more details on reporting and Stripe payment states, see this GiveCampus University article.)
We don't use Stripe but would like to so that we can take advantage of Apple Pay. What should we do?
Switching from your existing payment processor to our native integration with Stripe takes less than five minutes, costs $0, and provides you with benefits ranging from streamlined reporting to higher donor conversion and happier donors. If you'd like to learn more or are ready to make the switch, just send a quick note to support@givecampus.com.
