GiveCampus upgraded our Stripe payment widget to support Stripe 'Link' on November 5, 2024. Link is Stripe’s accelerated checkout solution that autofills your donors' payment information to create an easy and secure checkout experience. Donors can save their credit cards, debit cards, or US bank accounts for faster checkout at any Link-enabled business or organization, and then use that saved payment for a faster donation experience on GiveCampus.
We're thrilled to be supporting this new, secure payment option and improving form conversion ahead of GivingTuesday and Calendar Year End 2024!
How do donors get a Link account?
39% of all donors who gave on GiveCampus in the last year already have a payment method saved to a Link account. As Link becomes more common across thousands of Stripe supported businesses, we expect that number to continue considerably.
- When checking out with any Link enabled business or organization, constituents will be able to save their payment method and create a Link account.
What is their payment experience?
- Upon making a donation or checking out, Link automatically detects if a donor is enrolled by using their email address, phone number, or browser cookie.
- The donor receives a one-time passcode via Text or Email to authenticate their session.
- After authentication succeeds, Link autofills their card or bank payment details and shipping information.
- After a donor enrolls with Link, they can add backup payment methods and change addresses.
What are the benefits?

How does this impact our reporting?
- Stripe Link has NO implications on reporting.
- Gifts will show in reporting like any other donation.
- The 'Card_Type' for gifts made via Stripe link will reflect the underlying saved credit card from the Link account (ex: Visa).

Yes! Stripe Link is backed by the same secure infrastructure that already processes your credit cards and recurring donations.
