Have you recently added our RE NXT integration to your GiveCampus lineup? Here's how to automate the constituent import. If you're interested in learning more about this, reach out to your Partner Success Manager or support@givecampus.com.
The GiveCampus direct integration with Blackbaud RE NXT supports enabling the ability to import constituent data to be used to match online gifts made on the platform with the constituent source record in RE NXT.
General setup
In order to set up the integration, you will need to connect your RE NXT environment with your GiveCampus environment. Follow the instructions found here to connect your two systems before enabling and understanding the constituent import integration specifically.
Settings for the Constituent Import Integration
Once you have completed the above linked steps, you will be able to enable the constituent integration specifically on your account. You can disable this at any point in time which will stop any new data including new constituents or updated information about existing constituents from importing from GiveCampus to RE NXT.
How it Works
This is a general overview of how this integration will work
Constituent Information Imported
The information that the GiveCampus platform will pull from RE NXT directly on a nightly basis includes the constituent ID, Name, the primary address, and all email addresses for all constituents that are in the Raiser's Edge database. These will be used to associate those email addresses with an "external identifier" for matching of online gifts made associated to specific email addresses.
Frequency
On a daily basis, the GiveCampus platform will look for and create the constituents for any new constituents that we did not already know about and update any information on constituents that have been updated with new information in the Raiser's Edge platform.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use this import alongside the School Level Data Importer?
Yes. Ensure you have the configuration for system ID vs. lookup ID set correctly to be the same for both the imported constituent data and the integrated constituent data. The data that was imported last will override the other data set. Email addresses that are imported via the direct integration will not be overridden by the limit of 3 email addresses imported via the School Level Data Importer.
How is this data used?
The data imported via this direct integration will be used to match the online gifts made in the GiveCampus platform to the constituents in RE NXT. This will help optimize how many email addresses we know about to understand which constituents made gifts.
Can I turn only this piece of the integration on?
Yes. This integration can stand alone from other RE NXT integration points. If you are managing your gift processing elsewhere, you can still utilize the constituents import to ensure you have optimized data on the online gifts coming out of the GC platform.
Why can't I turn off the constituent import when I've selected "lookup ID"?
The constituent import functionality is required when you have chosen to use "lookup ID" as your setting for constituent identifiers. This is so GiveCampus can use that lookup ID and find the system ID for sending batch information to RE NXT. If you have concerns about this please reach out to your GiveCampus team to make a change to your settings and talk through implications.
