Reporting for Pledges
Pledges let donors commit today and pay later, offering flexibility while supporting long-term fundraising goals. Accurate reporting ensures you can effectively steward donors and fulfill these commitments. Here are best practices for pledge reporting! š

When you're ready to build your report, consider these two recommended report types:
1. Pledge Commitment Custom Report
This report provides a comprehensive view of your pledges, including total commitments, amounts paid, remaining balances, installment details, and payment status.
Pro Tip: To pull a Commitments-only report, go to your administrator dashboard > Reporting > Pledges > Pledge Commitments report.
Key columns to include:
- constituent_identifier: Unique donor identifier from your database

first_name and last_name: Donor names as entered on the pre-payment page
- Note: Avoid using payer_name, as some pledges may not have payment information, leaving this field blank.
- payer_email: Email provided with payment information
- addr_city, addr_state, addr_country, zipcode: Donor address details (if collected)
- affiliation: Donorās self-identified relationship with your institution
- donation_amount: Total pledged amount
- subscription_type: Identifies the type of recurring gift: pledge or recurring subscription
- pledge_payment_provided: Indicates whether payment information has been provided for the pledge

subscription_state: Status of the pledge, including:
- Scheduled: Pledge has been made with payment info, but no installment charged yet
- No Payment: Pledge made without payment info
- Active: Payments have started
- Cancelled: Pledge and future payments canceled
- Failed: Payment attempt failed
- Finished: Pledge paid in full
- subscription_installment_amount: Amount of each installment
- donation_type: Will display āpledgeā for all pledge gifts
- designation: Fund designation for the pledge
- recur_period: Payment frequency (monthly, yearly, or one-time)
- recur_length: Length of the pledge
- subscription_create_at: Date the pledge was created
- subscription_start_date: Date of the first payment
- subscription_end_date: Scheduled final payment date
- max_installments: Total number of installments
- subscription_installments_paid: Number of installments paid so far
- subscription_installments_remaining: Number of installments left to pay
- subscription_amount_paid: Total amount paid to date
- subscription_amount_remaining: Remaining balance
2. Pledge Payment Custom Report
Use this report to track installment payments received during a specific time period. For example, review payments processed last month and their total value. š
Pro Tip: To pull Installments-only reports, visit your administrator dashboard > Reporting > Pledges > Pledge Payment Report.
Key columns to include:
- constituent_identifier: Unique donor identifier
- paid_name: Name provided with the payment
- payer_email: Email provided with payment
- state: Payment status (e.g., paid, authorized, confirmed)
- addr_city, addr_state, addr_country, zipcode: Donor address details (if collected)
- affiliation: Donorās relationship with your institution
