Schools can allow donors to support 1-99 designations within a single transactions. Depending on how many designations you allow, it's important to choose the correct option set yourself up for easy reporting.
To start, head to Online Giving > Reporting > Custom Reports.
Option 1: Designations as Columns
Do not use Option 1 if you allow donors to support more than 5 designations in a single transaction.
The Gift Row Report custom report option will pull in the donor’s information into one row, with the different designations indicated in their own column.
For this option, include any columns you’d like to export in the donation report and be sure to include the following columns:
- designation_name_1
- designation_backend_1
- designation_amount_1
Repeating the addition of these columns up until designation_amount_5.
Option 2: Designations As Rows
Option 2 is required to successfully report on more than 5 designations in a single transaction.
The Designation Row Report option allows you to build a report that exports each designation as its own row.
When adding columns to this report, ensure you include the designation column.
For example, if the GiveCampus Gopher made a gift to Scholarships and Athletics, you'd see the GiveCampus Gopher displayed in two different rows, with all the same information (email, constituent ID, address, etc.) aside from the designations and donation amount.
