The three primary areas where assignment reporting can be customized are:
- Cohort & Affiliation Reporting
- Class Year Reporting
- Custom Tile Reporting
Cohort & Affiliation Reporting
Not all volunteers fit the class year model. Maybe their goal is to involve more parents, to get GOLD alumni engaged, or talk specifically to a group in a specific affinity. So let’s show the activity from those specific groups!
If you send over Affiliation Years (i.e., Parent 2022, Alumni 2001), you can set up reporting within a role just for those groups. To use the Parent 2022 example, you would go into the Parent role, scroll to the “What reporting this role can see” section and select “Show Cohort and Affiliation Reporting”. From there, choose the reporting tiles you want to show, and then select the condition to look at Affiliation Years for the Parent Affiliation, and choose either that the volunteer must match the constituent exactly in affiliation year, or in a range of years.

If you want to look specifically at reporting for a Constituent Cohort, first make sure you’ve built the cohort in the “Constituent Cohorts” tab. Once that’s created, you can choose “Constituent Cohort” in the condition query, then select the cohort you want to look at.

From there, the volunteers will see custom tiles in their Assignments tab that correspond more closely with the group they are engaging.
Class Year Reporting
Maybe you are working in a class year model, but it is more engagement than fundraising focused, and you want to customize those reporting choices. We have a solution for you! You can customize which tiles show up for class year based stats via the “What reporting this role can see” section, “Show Class Year Stats” subsection.

This flexibility is both to hide/show the standard tiles, as well as the new custom tiles, which you can read more about in the next section!
Custom Tile Reporting
As with custom filters, we’ve taken flexibility with reporting tiles to the next level with custom tiles. To set up custom tiles, you’ll want to set up your selections within the VMS Settings > Assignments section. This is where you’ll manage existing tiles, as well! To create a new tile, click the “Create a New Tile” button in the top right corner, name the tile, then choose the data you want to include.
There are a few standard datapoints you can choose from, assuming you send this information in your files or they are in an existing cohort:
- Cohort
- Donor Status
- Dorm
- Giving Society
- Reunion / Event Attendance
- Affiliation/Class Year
- Ask Amount
- Home Address
In this example, we’ll use a Cohort for those in the “New England Club”:

Once that tile is added to the VMS settings, you’ll want to go to the role(s) where you want to show that filter and select it as an option in the “What reporting this role can see” > “View Assignment Statistics” section.
Once selected, the volunteer’s assignment page would look similar to this (with whatever additional tiles you want included):

If you’d like to add a custom option of data that you are currently sending in your file, but it is not showing up as a custom datapoint when you set up the tiles, please email support@givecampus.com and ask the team to make that data/column(s) an option for your tiles.
If you would like to add a custom tile option based on data that you are NOT sending over in your files yet, please email support@givecampus.com and outline what you intend to add to your files to open up the discussion for a configuration change.
For additional details on the configuration change process, please see this article.
