GiveCampus uses secure file transfer protocol (SFTP) to allow Partners using GiveCampus Volunteer Management (GC VM) to provide our team with files containing data about volunteers and constituents, and to automatically transfer updated GC VM data back to our Partners on a nightly basis. Get data-ready by following these easy steps to start using SFTP:

1. Select and install a third-party FTP provider. While GiveCampus is not affiliated with any one provider, Partners have used FileZilla and Cyberduck successfully in the past (bonus points: both are free!).
2. Receive login information for our SFTP site from the Partner Operations Team/support@givecampus.com. We’ll also send it to you when you’re ready to start Onboarding!
3. Using your FTP provider, establish a connection with our SFTP site.
4. Change your password for our SFTP site from the password provided to something new and confidential.
5. Drop any requested data files into the ‘private’ folder. Dropping files into this folder is how you’ll send GiveCampus data for the GC VM.
6. Get ready to receive nightly data updates from GiveCampus in the “from_givecampus” folder. We’ll send you VMS-related data via this folder.
Note: SFTP is the most secure and only way we can receive and transmit sensitive donor information. Please never send data files directly to our team or support@givecampus.com.
