Many GiveCampus Partners have expressed a desire to delegate more fundraising activities across their staff and community in a secure, controlled way. Good news: we heard you and we've made it happen.
About Advanced Online Giving Permissions
GiveCampus’ Advanced Online Giving Permissions gives schools much more granular control over the access administrators have and the actions they can take. Managing permissions happens in two ways:
GROUPS:
Planning for Groups:
-
About Permission Groups: Groups allow you to limit or grant access by providing grouping together collections of giving forms and/or campaigns. You can grant access to individual forms/campaigns and/or a group or groups of forms/campaigns. For example:
- Athletics: Group together all of your forms/campaigns related to Athletics, and grant permission to access these forms/campaigns to certain administrators
- What Happens When We Transitioned in May 2024? Groups are brand new! So, there are no groups by default. This means that your administrators (with the exception of campaign specific admins) will continue to have access to all campaigns and forms until you create groups, and grant access to them.
-
Make a Plan:
- Step 1: Determine if and how you’d like to group your campaigns and forms.
- Step 2: Determine which administrators should have access to what groups.
- Step 3: Determine which forms / campaigns should be included in each group.
- Step 4: Set aside time to create and apply Groups after you’ve transitioned.
Groups allow you to limit or grant access by grouping together collections of giving forms and/or campaigns.
For example:
- Athletics: Group together all of your forms/campaigns related to Athletics, and grant permission to access these forms/campaigns to select administrators
You can grant access to individual forms/campaigns and/or a group or groups of forms/campaigns.
ROLES
Planning for Roles:
- Get to Know the New Default Roles
- Understand How Current Permissions will Map to New Default Roles
-
Make a Plan:
- Step 1: Do an audit! Revisit who is a current administrator with your GiveCampus online giving solutions. Should anyone be removed or added?
- Step 2: Based on the Permission Mappings, do you want to make any changes to your current administrators permissions in order to adjust which new roles they map to?
- Step 3: Make a plan for which admins should have which role(s) once you enable Advanced Online Giving Permissions.
- Step 4: Set aside some time to update administrator roles after you’ve transitioned.
Roles define which actions administrators are able to perform. Roles are predetermined sets of individual actions that we have developed to reflect the different fundraising “jobs to be done.”
Roles can be granted individually, or can stack on top of each other.
For example:
- An Advanced Campaign Admin role might be paired regularly with the Communications Admin role, to unlock management of a select campaigns as well as Smart Appeals and Texting.
