Creating multiple, targeted Giving Forms is an excellent way to optimize giving and create a more tailored donation experience. However, managing hundreds of Giving Forms has historically been cumbersome and time-consuming. GiveCampus is striving to make it easier to manage your scaled fundraising programs with more opportunities for bulk changes, starting with the ability to make bulk modifications to Giving Form form fields.
With Reusable Form Fields, you can add, remove, and modify form fields in bulk across your GiveCampus Giving Forms. This feature allows you to standardize data collection and display, add and remove seasonal questions, and more—all in service of streamlining backend processes and creating a consistent donor experience.
Getting to Know Reusable Form Fields:
Access: Super Admins can now access a ‘Reusable Form Fields’ section within your Fundraising Dashboard > School Level Settings.
View: The Reusable Form Fields area will show you all fields that are currently present on your Giving Forms or available to be added to Giving Forms.
- # of Forms each field is present on
- Click into the Number to view which forms each field is present on.
- Field Label
- Field Type
- Requirement Status
- Location
- Actions:
- Add
- Edit
- Remove

Add Field to Forms
- Before adding fields to forms, you must standardize the Label and Requirement. If you aren’t able to click the “+” Icon, click to modify and update the Label and the Requirement.
- Use the “+” Icon to Add fields to Forms
- Add to All Forms or Select Forms
- Add to the Pre- or Post-Payment Form
- Location:
- Adding Fields will add them to the bottom of the pre- or post-payment form.
- If you wish to add multiple fields to forms to help standardize your form display, be thoughtful about the order in which you take bulk actions knowing each “add” action will add to the bottom of the form.
Edit Fields
- Use the ‘Pencil’ icon to make modifications to Form Fields in Bulk
- Apply edits to All Forms or Select Forms
- Editing Fields will only update the settings that have been modifiedbefore applying changes. All other settings will remain as they are on the form. For example:
- Updating the Field Label but not modifying the ‘Requirement’ settings:
- GiveCampus will update the Label appropriately, but maintain the ‘Requirement’ of that field that was previously set on a form by form basis
- Updating the ‘Placeholder Text’ but not modifying the Label
- GiveCampus will update the Placeholder Text, but maintain the Label as it was previously set on a form by form basis.
- Updating the Field Label but not modifying the ‘Requirement’ settings:
Remove Fields
- Use the ‘Trash’ icon to remove fields from Forms
- Remove fields from All Forms or Select
- Fields that are required to process donations (Name, Email, Amount) cannot be removed from forms.

Step by Step Instructions for Common Use Cases:
Sample Scenario: Standardizing Data Collection
- Over the years, your school has wanted to ask donors if they are interested in planned giving. This is a question you’ve tried to remember to ask on the post-payment form for each form you create.
- On each Form, you ask the question a little differently — “Are you interested in Planned Giving? Are you interested in estate planning?” etc. This means you now have 10 different versions of the same question on your forms — and they are feeding into 10 different report columns which is causing a real headache for your gift processing team.
- Steps to Standardize:
- Step 1: Head to ‘Reusable Form Fields’ and search to help identify all of the similar fields.
- Step 2: Identify the version of the Field that is present on the most forms. This will be your standard field that you maintain. Click to ‘Add Field’ to all forms where you wish to ask this question.
- Step 3: Next, find all of the duplicates of this question and Delete.
- Click the ‘Trash’ Icon for each duplicate field and select ‘Remove from All Fields’
- The duplicates will now be present on zero forms, while your standardized question asked on every form.
Sample Scenario: Shifting to Pre or Post-Payment Form
- Your team is hyper focused on conversion, and so you’re hoping to move more questions — like In Honor Of and In Memory Of to the post-payment form.
- Steps to Standardize:
- Step 1: Find the ‘In Honor Field’ and remove that field anywhere it’s present on the Pre-Payment Form. Do the same with ‘In Memory Of’
- Step 2: Add ‘In Honor of’ and ‘In Memory’ of to the Post-Payment for all forms.
Sample Scenario: Standardizing the Pre- or Post-Payment Form:
- Your team is interested in leveraging the post-payment form more thoughtfully and want to build out a standard, post-payment form that’s present on all forms.
- This will happen in two steps:
- Removing Post-Payment Fields
- Building our Standard Post-Payment Form
- Step 1: Removing Post-Payment Fields
- Look at the ‘Location’ Column
- For fields that are only present on the Post-Payment Field, click the ‘Trash’ icon and remove from all forms
- For fields that are ‘Varied,’ click the Trash icon and remove from select fields. Only select the forms where this field is present on the post-payment page.
- Step 2: Building a Standardized Post-Payment Form
- Add fields, adding them to the post-payment form for all forms or select forms.
- Remember, fields will be added to the bottom of the post-payment form when they are added — so it’s important to be thoughtful about the order we add questions. The order fields are added in will be the order in which they display.
- Pro-Tip: Before adding fields, make a plan and get buy in around the order you want them to display. Then, make the updates in bulk!
FAQs
- What about bulk changes to Giving Form Text, Headers, and Imagery?
In conversations with GiveCampus partners, we found having text and imagery that was distinct per form was one of the main ways that schools were tailoring Giving Forms and therefore there was not as much need to make bulk changes to these settings. If you have a use case for applying bulk changes to these parts of the form, please pass that feedback along! - What about bulk changes to Form Settings, like suggested ask amounts or recurring giving settings?
This is not possible today but is on our radar for future iterations. - What about bulk changes to Email Confirmations?
