Highlighting supporters' impact on a campaign page is easy with donor maps and leaderboards. These features highlight top-performing segments, show which cohorts are most active, and help rally friendly competition in your community.
With Custom Leaderboards you can create multiple leaderboards that best complement your campaign’s goals or audience!
Getting Started
In your campaign settings, head to Leaderboards > Manage Custom Leaderboards > Add Leaderboard.
From this page you can configure several overall options:
- leaderboard type (Designation, Designation filtered by Affiliation, or Affiliation)
- leaderboard name
- hex code color for header and text
- help text you may want as a description for your donors.
Adding goals to your leaderboard is optional. If you want to add the goals to your leaderboard, you can select donor or dollar goals. These goals can be calculated based on the overall campaign goal or custom goals per row. If you choose to utilize manually provided goals, you will be able to add these after you'd selected the leaderboard rows.
Select the rows you want displayed on your leaderboards. The options here will differ based on the type of leaderboard (affiliation, class, designation, etc.) Once you've selected the rows you want to display select the "Save Rows" option before returning to the Leaderboard editing page.
Once the leaderboard is set up, it can be published or modified from the Leaderboards > Custom Leaderboards page.
Designation Leaderboards
For a designation leaderboard, you can choose which available designations to display. You do not have to include all designations on the campaign or all designations within a group. Just add each individually as a row on the leaderboard.
After you have chosen which designations will be leaderboard rows, you can edit the display name of the designation, to differ it from how it appears on the giving form.
This edit step is also where you can add manually calculated goals row by row.
Affiliation Leaderboards
When selecting the leaderboard rows, you can choose the whole affiliation (all gifts to Alumni) or specific affiliation values (such as class years).
Just selecting “Alumni” will not display rows of class years. This will show the total of ALL gifts made to Alumni. To create a leaderboard of individual class years you must click “Add Values.” You can select all values from that affiliation, or select individually (ex. selecting only reunion years for a reunion leaderboard.)
Tiered Landing Page Leaderboards
The setup of Custom Leaderboards on a Tiered Landing Page mirrors the setup on a standard campaign or main campaign page. When setting up a leaderboard for a Tiered Landing Page, the Leaderboard section will be within the Tiered Landing Page settings.
To add a new leaderboard, click “Add New Leaderboard” and the same Custom Leaderboard configuration page will appear. Once complete, Publish the leaderboard to display it on the page.
To edit a leaderboard on a Tiered Landing Page, return to the settings and click Modify.
Remember that leaderboard row options and results are limited to the "relevant gifts" selected in the Tiered Landing Page setup.
FAQ
Can a newly created leaderboard count gifts previously made?
Yes, leaderboards count all gifts made that match the criteria, regardless of whether it made prior to or after the leaderboard being published?
Can a leaderboard row represent multiple class years or multiple designations?
No, a leaderboard row can only represent one designation, one affiliation, or one affiliation value. However, you can always create separate leaderboards for each group of designations or group of class years (e.g. decade). You may also prefer to to use Tiered Landing Pages to aggregate results of several class years or a designation group.
Can I remove the dollars raised column?
Yes! Follow these steps within the leaderboard's settings:
- Toggle Leaderboard Goals to Yes
- That causes a new field to show in the Row Configuration section: Hide Dollars Raised
- Toggle Hide Dollars Raised to Yes
- If you do not want goals, toggle Leaderboard Goals back to No
