Using Pre-launch Landing Pages allows you to create a page “in front” of your campaign to let your community visit your campaign before the big day and engage with early access content. These pages can be launched before the campaign is ready to go so you can get the word out to your community as you're refining your actual campaign. The best part is that the URL for the page is the same as the campaign URL, so once the campaign is live, your community doesn’t need to be sent a new link.
Pre-Launch Landing Pages are now enabled for all campaigns! You’ll see a new option in your Campaign Settings for Pre-Launch Page, and you can click that tab to start building.
Components of a Pre-Launch Landing Page:
Campaign Launch Date. Hype up your big day(s) by setting the date for the day your campaign is going to launch! This will display on the launch page with a countdown to the launch date, up to the second!
Pre-Launch Page Header. Title your Pre-Launch page to display at the top of the page. This title can be different from your campaign page!
Background Hero Image. Upload a photo to the top section of your Pre-Launch Landing Page for campaign branding and to pull the page together.
About Section. Share with your community information about your upcoming campaign. This about section is as configurable as any campaign about sections.
Custom Content Sections: Create up to 5 additional sections on your pre-launch page to emphasize other information like FAQ's, Advocate Resources, and more!
Call to Action Options. You have five different early action options your community can take. You can toggle each of these actions on or off in the page settings.
-
The following options will not be available for visitors to your Pre-Launch Landing Page until your actual campaign is in an Online state.
- Make a Gift Early allows for your donors to make a gift to your campaign early and count in the donor and dollar totals. The Campaign must be launched (not in a draft state) to select this option.
- Offer a Match allows your donors to make a matching gift that is immediately active. The Campaign must be launched (not in a draft state) to select this option.
- Offer a Challenge allows your donors to make a challenge that is immediately active. The Campaign must be launched (not in a draft state) to select this option.
-
Become an Advocate. You can direct your community to the Pre-Launch Page to become an advocate. When clicking this button on the Pre-launch Page, advocates will be prompted to do one of the following:
- If the advocate is logged into their account: The "Become an Advocate button will take the advocate to a page that displays text about advocacy and the sharing options.
- If the advocate is not logged into their account: a pop-up will appear explaining that their advocacy link may be shared with them via email from their school, or they can access by signing in or creating a GiveCampus account
- Sharing Options. Allow your community to share the campaign early via Facebook, Twitter, or a copy to share link. Users who land on these links before the campaign start date will be directed to the Pre-launch Page.
Pre-Launch Video & Custom Video Thumbnail. Use your campaign video or a pre-campaign video to generate excitement and energy leading to your big day. Just like a campaign, a video is required for this page to be launched. Upload an optional custom video thumbnail to display instead of the default frame on the video.
What do I need to do when my campaign starts?
The short answer is you don't need to do anything! When the campaign start time that you've set is reached, the URL will automatically transfer to the campaign page. Any users who are on the pre-launch landing page will be automatically directed to the campaign page as well.
URL continuity from pre‑launch to go‑live
Your campaign uses a single URL from pre‑launch through the live phase:
- The same URL is used from pre‑launch until the campaign ends, so no updates are needed for scheduled emails, websites, QR codes, or other marketing materials.
- At the configured start time, the pre‑launch page automatically transitions into the live campaign page.
- The transition occurs automatically; no action is required from administrators.
Supporters will see:
- Before start time: the Pre‑Launch Landing Page.
- At or after start time: the live campaign page.
How do I view my campaign page when I have a Pre-Launch Landing Page live?
As a school administrator you'll have the special ability to continue to view your actual campaign page. You will need to access your campaign page from the "Back to Campaign" link within your campaign settings. Going to the campaign URL will take you to the pre-launch landing page experience until your campaign is launched. When you are logged in as an administrator though, you'll also see a link to the campaign page from your pre-launch landing page.
Do Pre-Launch Landing Pages work with Unique Tracking Links?
Yes. A Unique Tracking Link directs donors to the campaign URL, which displays the Pre-Launch Landing Page while activated and an online Campaign page once the countdown ends.
Can I launch a Pre-Launch Landing Page while still building out my campaign page?
Absolutely! Think of the pre-launch page as a curtain covering the stage. You can still make changes and configure all the bells & whistles of your campaign while still building hype and even taking early gifts. Note: To take early gifts, matches and challenges early, you'll need to launch your campaign and will want your donation forms to be finalized. However, the rest of the campaign setup can come later!
How does a Pre-Launch Landing Page work with Tier 2 Landing Pages?
While a Pre-Launch Landing Page is active, all campaign URLs, including direct URLs to Tier 2 Landing Pages will display the Pre-Launch Page. However, just like the main campaign page, once the countdown is over, the Tier 2 page will automatically display! All campaign pages display the same Pre-Launch Landing Page.
We’re excited to offer these Pre-Launch Landing Pages to our partners and drive even more traffic to your campaign page before, during and after your campaign! If you have any questions please reach out to support@givecampus.com.

Making Campaigns Live but Not Public
How to Launch a Campaign Without Public Visibility
To make your campaign live for testing or limited access while keeping it hidden from general public:
Option 1: Use Pre-Launch Page
1. Go to Campaign Settings > Campaign Setup > Pre Launch Page
2. Enable the pre-launch page feature
3. Customize the pre-launch messaging
4. Set your campaign to live status
5. The pre-launch page will display instead of the full campaign for non-admins
Option 2: Keep Campaign Private
1. Launch the campaign normally
2. Don't add the campaign link to your school page
3. Don't share the campaign URL publicly
4. Only share the direct link with intended audiences
Testing Access:
Administrators can always access live campaigns directly via the campaign URL, even when using pre-launch pages.
