How to Approve Personal Videos
Video Approval Process
All personal video submissions must be reviewed and approved by school administrators before they appear on your campaign page.
Once a personal video is submitted, all school administrators with permissions to manage advocacy will receive an email notification to review and approve the video.
After approval: where the video appears and how to share it
Approved personal videos automatically appear on the advocate’s card on your campaign page. They do not appear as standalone elements.
expanded guidance — where personal videos appear and how to access them
Approved personal advocate videos are attached to an advocate's card in the Advocates section. They are not displayed as standalone featured videos.
To find an approved advocate video:
- Open your public campaign page and scroll to the Advocates section.
- Locate the advocate's card. If more than ten advocates are displayed, click View All Advocates to see the full list.
- Click the Watch Personal Video button on the advocate's card to play the video.
Sharing an advocate video:
- The Watch Personal Video button includes a shareable link. Copy the link to share in email, text, or social posts. Recipients using the link will see the campaign page with the advocate's video open.
who can view and how to manage uploads
Public sharing vs. account access:
- Advocates added via the advocacy-link workflow can share their unique advocacy link and the associated approved personal video without signing in. These are publicly accessible.
- Uploading a personal video requires the advocate to be signed in to a GiveCampus account. Full access to the Advocacy Dashboard also requires signing in.
Note: All personal videos must be approved by a school administrator before they appear publicly on the advocate's card.
faq — advocacy dashboard upload vs. campaign-featured video
Q: I uploaded a video via the Advocacy Dashboard—why doesn't it show as the campaign's main video?
A: Videos uploaded through the Advocacy Dashboard are personal advocate videos and appear only on the advocate's card. They are not the same as the main campaign hero video and will not appear as a standalone featured video.
- Where to find it: Locate the advocate’s card on the campaign page; the video is displayed on that card.
- Seeing additional advocates: If an advocate isn't among the most recent 10 displayed, click View All Advocates to see their card. This button appears when there are more than 10 advocates.
- How to open the video: Click Watch Video on the advocate’s card to play the video.
- Sharing the video: The Watch Video button provides a unique share link that you can copy and use in emails, texts, or social posts. This link will take you directly to a version of the page with the advocate's video open.
Note: Personal videos are only accessible via the advocate’s card on the campaign page.
