Setting up GC Outreach
Whether you have just started to use GC Outreach or you have already been actively using it and just want to add a little more to your capabilities, you can configure a few school level settings that will impact and be used in GC Outreach.
Domain Validation
Validate your own url so that emails can come from @[yourschoolname].edu or whatever your URL might be. In order to do this, navigate to the School Dashboard > Settings > Domains and enter in your base url (ex: givecampus.com) to validate. You will be given CNAME records that you can copy/paste and share with your IT team to add to your DNS settings in whatever software you use to host your domain.

After your IT team has confirmed that they have added these three CNAME values, you can come back in to the GiveCampus platform page to validate it and check to ensure you are connected correctly.
Now that you have done this step you can easily set up the sender email address to utilize that domain instead of outreach@outreach.givecampus.com
Once you validate your own domain, the limit of how many emails you can send out per day increases significantly so we highly recommend doing this step as you start to use GC Outreach.
Google Font Import
On top of domains, you can also import your institution's google fonts that you utilize in the School Dashboard > Settings > General Settings page. Visit the google fonts page to build out your URL with all relevant fonts and copy/paste that back into the GiveCampus settings page. All the fonts that are included should show up on the page below and then now be available for selection in the GC Outreach email builder.

Important note about font families: Not all email providers support custom fonts in their emails. If you want to know more about top fonts to use that are widely supported check out this article by SendGrid. If the email provider does not support the font you have chosen, it will revert back to a default font for those viewers.
Permissions and Access to GC Outreach
You can additionally give others access to GC Outreach and ensure that the right people in other parts of the platform have access to it. If you are trying to gain access and you are unsure who to reach out to within your institution, reach out to the person who you think signed up for early access of GC Outreach as they were automatically added as superadmins or reach out to support@givecampus.com to inquire about the best next step for you.
In order to manage GC Outreach specific roles, you will navigate to the Outreach left navigation icon and then down to Administrators. All the role definitions can be found on the 'Roles' page. At a high level though there are four roles for GC Outreach:
- Outreach Superadmin: Can take all actions and can give others access to take action
- Outreach Manager: Can take all actions on an outreach, recipients, and reporting but cannot add others or adjust permissions
- Outreach Content Manager: Can only manage the content of emails specifically but cannot manage reporting or recipients
- Outreach Reporting Admin: Can only manage reporting actions such as downloading unsubscribes reports, uploading recipient lists, etc
Since GC Outreach is a platform wide capability and supports GC Events and all Online Giving actions, there is additionally roles and access for those in Social Fundraising, Giving Forms, and GC Events.
All GC Events full admins can create and then manage/send their own outreaches from the GC Events tool to pre-built segments in the events platform.
The following roles in Online Giving also have access to create, send, and manage their own content created from the campaigns/giving forms that they have access to:

Solicit Code Mapping
In order to filter out any people that you do not want to message from GC Outreach, you can now map any imported solicit codes through the Data Importer to GC Outreach. This setting can be found in the School Dashboard > General Settings page and will allow you to map any imported solicit codes to GC Outreach.

If there is a person that has ANY email address in the recipient list that has a solicit code mapped to GC Outreach, they will be automatically removed from that recipients list
