Configuring your Unsubscribe Topics
In the Outreach Settings page within the Outreach navigation item, configure all topics you would like to manage and track different unsubscribes to in GC Outreach emails. The general outreach topic will display here and cannot be removed or adjusted. When topics are no longer relevant, archive them so they can no longer be used in future outreaches.

Setting your Unsubscribe Link
All GC Outreach emails will have the general GC Outreach unsubscribe link added to the bottom of your email content by default. This will also pull from other settings such as your address configured at the school level to ensure compliance with a mail option to unsubscribe from your outreach. Use the dropdown in the top of each outreach to determine which topic you would like to associate with this outreach email.
This general or all unsubscribe link will be specific to GC Outreach emails and will not be impacted by other email unsubscribe statuses from across the platform including the Incomplete Gift Nudge email or the Smart Appeals Emails. Those currently live separately. If someone has unsubscribed from Smart Appeals emails, they will not automatically be unsubscribed from new emails coming from GC Outreach (we recommend setting up solicit codes if you want to limit emails for specific constituents). Any gift notification emails coming from the GiveCampus platform are also separate and will not be impacted by unsubscribes from GC Outreach.
Viewing all email addresses that have unsubscribed
All email addresses that have unsubscribed from your GC Outreach emails will be visible and exportable from the GC Outreach > Reporting tab. This data will include the email address that unsubscribed from emails, which topic, the date, and the email that they clicked on to initiate the unsubscribe.
If you have any request sent to you to resubscribe a specific email address, to a specific topic, please utilize the "send resubscribe link" by clicking on the email icon at the edge of the row will send an email directly to that email address with a link to resubscribe. They should move off of this list once they have selected to resubscribe via that email. This email is not currently configurable.

How Unsubscribes are used in new email outreach
If you have uploaded or have a recipient email address that has previously unsubscribed from GC Outreach emails, they will be automatically filtered out and displayed at the top of the outreach recipients tab. This will be specific to the email address in the recipient list. Additionally the platform will filter out any bad email addresses or any email that is tied to a constituent with a mapped solicit code for GC Outreach in the School Level Dashboard.
FAQ
-> Can I automatically opt an email address back in that has unsubscribed?
Currently, no you cannot do this on behalf of the email address that has unsubscribed. You can choose to send them the "resubscribe link" mentioned above or use a different email address
-> Can we customize what the Unsubscribe language says at the bottom of the email?
No, this language is standard and hardcoded across GC Outreach.
