GC Outreach supports a wide range of capabilities for link building using the GC Link builder inside of our email editor. Within GC Outreach, you can pair Online Giving Personalization so each recipient will get a personalized experience including things like a greeting message, specific ask amount / designation, and pre-filled information such as their address/phone number/etc.
Steps to using Personalization Links in GC Outreach
Important note: You must be utilizing personalization v2 in the GiveCampus platform. If you do not see the 'Tags' section within Personalization, you likely need to upgrade. Most of our partners have been upgraded already. Reach out to support@givecampus.com to receive information on how to upgrade to v2 if you have questions/concerns.
Step 1: Create personalization links for constituents
To populate personalization links for individuals, you will need to upload data via the school-level data importer and include the personalization specific data in your upload.
If you are looking to create another tag specific to a GC Outreach initiative, use the "New Tag" button on the Tags navigation item to set up another set of data with a new tag. This will allow you to have different ask amounts, designations, or display names as examples in the links you are using in this GC Outreach email.

You can always use the personalization links that are already set up in your dashboard if you have done the work ahead of time in this step to get to this point. This is just an option to be specific to your upcoming email outreach. If you have all the data uploaded already skip to step 2.
Step 2: Using Links in GC Outreach
Once you have generated your data for individual constituents, you can now use them in outreach. You can either start an outreach from scratch or use one that is already built out and just configure your button links to utilize these personalization tokens
Inside of an outreach, use the GC Link Plugin in the top bar of the email builder to select from various different tags for personalization. If you didn't upload tags or have not historically used tags, the selection you will want to make here is "General - No Tag". This can be used for just your general everyday links instead of for specific asks like a major gift or for a specific campaign / specific designation / etc.
Once your email content is set up, upload your recipient list for all of those that you want to target with this email outreach. GiveCampus will find all matching recipients in the outreach in your personalization links and merge the correct adid at the end of your url for your campaign / giving form for the recipient in the email. If you have a recipient that has multiple email addresses associated to them via the data importer, we will match based on the overall constituent and do not require the email address to be identical between those personalization tokens and the outreach recipient.
If a recipient does not have a matching personalization link built out in personalization, their experience will be a general link to the campaign and nothing will be pre-filled for them.
These two pieces (recipients and adding the personalization links) can be done in either order in the outreach before you send it off!
