Will offline donations that are uploaded count towards Matches and Challenges?

Yes, offline gifts activate matches and challenges as long as they meet the qualifications of the match or challenge. Offline gifts are not represented in the matched gifts section on the donation details page, but you will see them added in the audits.

Offline gifts do NOT count towards first-time donor matches and challenges, even if they’re entered using the name and email of a donor who would count. Only online gifts count into first-time donor matches and challenges.

Offline gifts do not activate certain matches and challenges, regardless of donor details. Specifically:

• First-time donor matches and challenges: Only online gifts count for these matches, even if an offline gift is entered under a qualifying donor’s details.
• Recurring-gift matches and challenges: Offline gifts are not treated as recurring, so they never trigger recurring donor matches or challenges.
• Follow the Fund matches: Offline gift uploads are not aggregated for Follow the Fund matches.
