Why didn't an offline gift count into a 'first-time donor' directed match/ challenge?

Offline gifts are never counted as first-time donations, so they do not trigger matches or challenges restricted to first-time donors. This remains true even if the donor's email appears in the data importer with a first-time donor status.

Additional limitations for offline gifts in the context of matches and challenges include:

• First-time donor matches/challenges: Offline gifts are not considered first-time donations and will not trigger these.
• Recurring-only matches/challenges: Offline gifts are not treated as recurring gifts, so they will not trigger these matches or challenges.
• Follow the Fund matches: Offline donations entered individually via the Add Individual Offline Donor form are included in Follow the Fund matches, and the matched dollars are allocated across designations like online gifts. Individual offline donor records uploaded by CSV can also qualify for Follow the Fund matches when they meet the match’s restrictions. Aggregate offline total adjustments are different: those adjustments do not qualify for Follow the Fund matching.
